Step-by-Step Payment Process:
- 1
Board the Jeepney
Find a seat. If sitting far from the driver, you'll pass your fare forward.
- 2
Say "Bayad po"
This means "Payment, please" in Filipino. Say it clearly when handing your fare.
- 3
Pass Your Fare Forward
If you're far from the driver, hand your fare to the passenger in front of you and say "Paabot po" (Please pass).
- 4
Receive Your Change
Your change will be passed back to you through the other passengers.
Pro Tip: Have exact fare ready when possible to make payment faster and easier. Keep small bills (₱20, ₱50) instead of large bills (₱500, ₱1000) which can be difficult to change.
